A clear, step-by-step guide to keeping your pets under control. Each task includes expert tips and troubleshooting so you know exactly what "done" looks like.
Feed Pets
Steps
1Measure out the right portion for each pet based on their size and age.
2Refresh the water bowl with clean water.
3Stick to a consistent feeding schedule.
4Wash food and water bowls with soap and hot water a few times a week.
Pro Tips
•Wash food and water bowls with soap and hot water a few times a week to stop bacteria from building up.
•Stick to a consistent feeding schedule so pets know when to expect meals.
•Use a measuring cup, not a scoop, to avoid overfeeding.
Troubleshooting
•Pet not eating? Check that the food isn't stale and the bowl is clean.
•Pet gaining weight? Measure portions carefully and limit treats.
•Water bowl slimy? Wash it daily — biofilm builds up fast in pet bowls.

Walk the Dog
Steps
1Take your dog for a walk that's long enough to burn off energy.
2Bring waste bags and clean up every time.
3Keep your dog on a leash in public areas.
4Offer water after the walk, especially in warm weather.
Pro Tips
•A consistent walking routine helps with behavior and keeps your dog calmer at home.
•Bring waste bags and clean up every time to keep sidewalks and parks clean.
•Vary the route to give your dog mental stimulation from new smells.
Troubleshooting
•Dog pulling on the leash? Use a front-clip harness and reward loose-leash walking.
•Dog refusing to go? Check for paw irritation or anxiety and keep walks short and positive.
•Dog too hot? Walk early morning or evening in summer and bring water.
